Duties of the Township Assessor
The township assessor is charged with listing and assessing all real property which becomes taxable and also making and returning to the Supervisor of Assessments a list of all new construction, modifications to existing structures and demolition/removal of assessable improvements. It is also the responsibility of the assessor to periodically return to every property within his/her jurisdiction and supply new photos and updated information to the Supervisor of Assessments as to whether the assessment needs to be raised, lowered or continued at the existing value based on current market conditions. The township assessor is the primary contact with respect to the valuation of your property and you are encouraged to contact the township assessor when any changes take place on your parcel.
