About Us

At Marion County Animal Control, our mission is to protect both people and animals through education, enforcement, and compassionate care. We work to reunite lost pets with their families, respond to stray dog complaints, facilitate adoptions, and partner with rescue organizations to help animals find safe, loving homes.

Our responsibilities include rabies prevention and surveillance, bite investigations, promoting spay and neuter programs, conducting animal welfare investigations, and educating the public on responsible pet ownership. We enforce the Illinois Animal Control Act, the Illinois Humane Care for Animals Act, and Marion County Animal Control ordinances to ensure the safety and well-being of our community.

Every day, we strive to serve Marion County with professionalism, compassion, and a commitment to creating a safer future for both people and pets.
